Close ups and Action Effects

DSC02669.JPGBrain and Spinal Injury Centre, Salford

28th July 2017

Today at basic we’ve been carrying on creating action shots from scenes from magazines and books, using props such as toy figures and cars.

The resulting shots taken produced some rather abstract results,

“The Wave” was created from the picture of a horse – i like it as it reminds me of the sea coming in.

Diving over a tree!

We’ve been playing with Objects and Backdrops today – and the toy cars!

Continuing on from last week we set up our shots on the stations before taking the shots with our camera

Campervan on the beach

Using the clips from old magazines and the toy cars produced some really good shots and saved us the cost of location (Hee Hee!)

Pointing out the birds!

I revisited this picture from the last session. Using the pencils as “Pointers”.  I hadn’t spotted this till after taking the pic, but I created a “Sunrise” effect by marking them out.

Sat on a Polar Bear

As well as the lego men, Graham, one of the group brought in some railway model men

this allowed the group to be a bit more adventurous with our photos….

Convoy 🙂

Land of the Giant Polar Bears 🙂

Off into the Wild blue Yonder

and here’s a couple when I got home 🙂 Created along the same principles – studio a bit more rustic than that of BASIC Clicks…but objects and subject matter stayed the same (Astronomy book provided a little colour!)

Musical mayhem and culinary capers

Brain and Spinal injury centre, Salford

17th march 2017

another fun session and close ups with objects with Basic Clicks.

continuing with the bokeh theme, we set up shots with various different objects, from spoons to a guitar.  The guitar worked nicely with last weeks shots, as we used a backdrop of musical notes again.  I liked the images I managed to create in the session.

After the session, I enjoyed a lovely steak and onion panini with a side salad in the centre café – “Food for thought”, washed down with a lovely cup of tea!

I performed a magic trick

with my little electric conjuring box

and people watched with delight

as a flash of light, burning bright

turned into a myriad of colours.

Photography @ BASIC Ed2

With my new camera acquired the other day , I took it along to BASICs Camera class where we had a session of picture taking out in BASICs Garden – “The Enchanted Garden”

The Aim was to find some abstract art in and around the garden – whether it be in the plants, the trees, the flowers or even in the buildings that made up the garden

My favourite pic this session?  The Path of Leaves!

Really enjoyed this session as I get to grips with my new camera.

No Session next week – but i’ll still be busy – as I look for five things to capture

Something Red, A Portrait, Water, A Reflection, and an Old Building

and as a bonus challenge – I’ve got to do a compilation of all five items
