Through the window

Through the Window

Half past ten on a Monday Evening, and I’m looking out of the window of my bedroom-cum-writing studio.

It’s quite dark outside, porch-lights flicker across the road.  They light up the cul-de-sac quite delightfully, but they cant match the LED Lamp by the electricity substation.

The rumble of traffic from the nearby A – Road can be heard through the double glazed windows.  A downside to living by one of the busiest roads in Europe.  I can hear them as they roll on down the road, but I can’t see them.

The birds that were nesting in the old jobcentre can be heard coo-ing before bed time.  There used to be a family of birds nesting in the garden, but now they just perch there in the morning.  Popular with thrushes , sparrows and the occasional robin.

A Neighbour passes by.  Hard to see out in the half-light.  The noise from the traffic rumbles on.  Then I hear a noise from out of the gardens – a rustle from the grasses,

Who would be out at this time of night?

Its eyes reflect yellow in the LED Light
